_{Lucas Laurent, born in 1990, lives and works with a personal studio in Paris.

Lucas Laurent discovered
photography when he was just a child. Fascinated by humanitarian photography, like
many, it is with
Willy Ronis’ pictures and
his book Derrière
l’objectif (behind the lens) that he discovered the beauty of the Black and White. He first approaches
photography using the tradition of film, spending years in a dark room.
Photography becomes his
way of expression before becoming his
career.

It is by the side of modern photography’s big names that he trains. He
assists numerous renowned photographers for seven years. It is them who taught him to work
with colour and
composition.

Lucas Laurent discovers a world of possibilities in
which, with patience, he composes the Picture.

Light becomes his accomplice, he
tames it to reveal the beauty of nature or to conceal other details.

Lucas Laurent’s photography is dual, as a nature’s
lover, he however doesn’t hold back from disturbing it in his work.

Distorting flowers’ natural beauty with women’s artifices, placing the animal as a consumerism’s desire, capturing the
attention with colours’ intensity, he
composes a contradictory universe with a strong aesthetic, where the picture
pushes towards uncertainty, as his
work transcend the medium of photography.}
